“It’s all about location and excellent service”. Welcome to Ah House Nelson City B&B, where we have been proudly serving guests for over 16 years. Ah House is a unique, award-winning bed & breakfast and self-catering accommodation experience in the heart of Nelson city centre, New Zealand.
Whether you are visiting Nelson for business or pleasure, our private apartments are ideally situated to maximise your stay.
Guests can choose from our Garden Apartment or our Garden Rooms. These are situated in our sunny garden over looking Nelson's famous Cathedral. They are fully equipped for all your needs whether they be self-catering or enjoying dinner in one of Nelson’s many restaurants just a short walk away. Both are ideal for one person, a couple or two people traveling together.
Just a 3-minute walk into town for all the restaurants, cafes & Bars.
Breakfast is always included in the price & is available in our dining room, in your apartment or on your deck.
Our rooms are serviced daily, unless otherwise requested.

Our Garden Apartment
Our Garden Apartment is a large, bright, spacious, fully self-contained, large 44 sqm, comfortable studio. Situated in our quiet, sunny garden overlooking our garden and Nelson's famous Cathedral.
The Garden Apartment comes complete with a Super King Size bed or twin single beds , an ensuite bathroom, dining table, kitchen, and lounge areas. The kitchen contains a small fridge, oven and microwave and all conveniences. The lounge area has a sofa and two comfy chairs, great for a good book or chatting.
French doors open out onto a private sunny deck, over looking the garden. It has a table, chairs and an umberella, ideal for relaxing with a cup of coffee or glass of wine after a busy day exploring the Nelson and the region.
The Garden Apartment offers private access from our garden for your convenience is also fully insulated, double glazed and benefits from solar hot water system.
Our Garden Rooms
Our Garden Rooms are what we like to call city centre, glamorous glamping. They are our take on a classic Kiwi Bach and a way of introducing sustainability into our guests' experience
They are two separate cabins/rooms linked by a deck situated in our relaxing, sunny garden. One is a cosy 10 sqm lounge with a small kitchen area and the other is a separate, larger, 18.5 sqm Queen size bedroom, with small ensuite. Both rooms have a sunny aspect overlooking our garden and the city's Cathedral & include inside & outside seating. ( BBQ facilities on request). Perfect for breakfast or relaxing after a fun-filled day. Breakfast is always included in the price.
The Garden Rooms also have their own private access from our garden. Both rooms are fully insulated, have heating so lovely & warm in the winter and glorious in the summer.
